This is the infamous prison – where you can even go inside cells and experience the cold and stark surroundings firsthand. Alcatraz served as a federal penitentiary from 1933 to 1963, where notorious criminals like Al Capone and Machine Gun Kelly were held. The award-winning 45-minute cell house audio headset tour will captivate you with escape attempts, riots, bizarre characters, and much more. Be sure to dress warmly for the outside decks. Depending on the forecast, consider hats, jackets, layers, and even gloves. San Francisco is known to have cool evening weather and being out on the water will only magnify things. But it’s more fun to be soaking up the views and the great atmosphere than it is to worry about being underdressed.

Upon purchase, you will receive an email voucher showing your purchase. The voucher will need to be presented on your phone at the Blue & Gold Fleet ticket window at Pier 41.

Tours are free for kids under age 5.
